After I had finished writing my blog entries, Rachel asked me if I had Internet access. There were at least twenty wireless access points (WAP) that the computer could see including "JAZMANN," "tet," "Tom's Network," "SST-PR-1," "Apartment," "tR@nsM1tnG," "HMI-GUEST," and "Healthy In Paranoid Times". However, only "ICEHOUSE" had a reliable enough connection.
I decided to check our e-mail (Rachel had about a dozen, I had several hundred). In addition, I figured that I would connect to the office and get a bit of work done. As I was waiting for my e-mail to download, the train lost electrical power. Ugh. Fortunately, I have about four and a half hours remaining on this battery and two additional batteries. I sure hope that we are not stuck her for that long.
The power outage did not last too long. While I was waiting for the power, I attempted to get the train status from Amtrak's website. Unfortunately, they apparently do not have that information online or I was unable to find it. I ended up calling the automated line. "Julie," the voice of the computer, was able to tell me that the train was "significantly delayed" and that there was no further information at that time.
