There was not a lot of snow on Friday. The drive home was so nice that I suggested that Rachel and I go out to dinner. We went to a place called Five & Diner. The place is based on a 50's style diner. The food was both wonderful and inexpensive. I had the Teriyaki Pineapple Burger and Rachel had the Bacon & Pepperjack Burger. We split a plate of Chili Cheese Fries. They had desserts too, but we were too full.
On Saturday, we went to Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery to pay our respect to Rachel's dad Kenny. His tombstone was covered with snow, so it was difficult to tell which one was his. Fortunately, Rachel spotted the flowers that we had placed there in October. I started to wipe off the snow, but there was ice underneath. I got an ice scraper from our vehicle and started to clear away the ice. The first word I could make out was "Korea." As we were both sure that he had only served during Vietnam, we realized that we had the wrong grave. If Rachel did not remember the grave number, we might have been clearing tombstones for a while. As it turns out, it was only the next one over. We suspect that the flowers might have blown away and someone replanted them nearby.
On the way home, we stopped at Hardee's. For dinner, we went to T.G.I. Fridays. The food at both places was great. But, we especially loved the Cinnadunkers as TGIF's. They are hot doughnuts covered with cinnamon and sugar, and served with a cream cheese dipping sauce. We are looking forward to consuming them again.
Today, I caught up on some schoolwork. In the evening, we met up with family members to remember Kenny on his birthday and to celebrate his parents' 56th anniversary.
